This is coming from my new iPhone 3Gs ... via text message link up with my blog ... One of the interesting things I found out today ... My 1st gen iPhone didn't qualify for my wife's state employee discount but the iPhone 3Gs does so although my family plan went up $10 because the data plan on edge is $20 each month and 3G data plans are $30 a month ... My bill went down $34.50 ... Cool.

I got mine delivered today. I'm waiting for activation, which could take a while. Put it on my WiFi network in the meantime, and Mail says it can't establish a secure network connection.

Deleted Mail account and re-added. No luck. Turned of SSL in Mail. No luck. What's odd is that I get my Inbox, but nothing else. No folders, etc.

App Store gives me the same error when I try to buy/download (not browse). Tweetie does, too. I have no idea why the new phone cannot securely connect. Google search is not helping.

Grrrrr...

Tom,

Web authentication won't work (well) until activation occurs.

I dealt with this issue in store quite a bit today.

Have to wait until August to get mine, but I'm getting mine on Pay As You Go (Pre-Paid), so I have none of the Contract mess. And since it comes with 12 Months of Unlimited Data, I'm happy enough to pay the £538.30 for my 32GB model.

I wish they did the prepaid option here ...

I'd gladly find up to $800 if it meant a whole year without payment.
