Yah, people are going to hate it when the actual shipping costs really are high. I've currently got something listed where the shipping is going to run $200 to $400 depending on the buyer's location (it's a statue.)
honestly, this is ebay crapping on the little sellers most of all. If you charge $3.95 for sending a CD or small DVD, the mailer, padded, cost you 75 to 1.00 and shipping will be a little over $2.00. I don't think $1.00 or a little less than that for handling is wrong. Handling means time, though ebay thinks gas the post office doesn't count. Time to start selling on craiglist?
I plan to offer shipping of CDs and LPs at eBay's shipping limit, but this shipping will include wrapping in only a single sheet of paper, and the buyer takes the risk of damage during shipping. A second shipping option, at a higher price, will include a padded mailer or shipping box. I really miss the days when eBay was simply a venue for selling, and not my mafia-like business partner.

But eBay would allow that charge ... $6.95 + would fall under excessive shipping.
