How to pair MOST Samsung Bluetooth cellphone headsets

*UPDATE September 30, 2013 … yes, this post is 5 years old but still rings true and is one of my highest ranked searches in Google. If this post helped you, please consider going to the right and sending me $1.

Since getting my iPhone I have been on a search for the perfect Bluetooth headset. A good one that just barely misses the mark for me is the Samsung WEP 200 Micro bluetooth in ear headset.

Here are the pair instructions and pairing code for some of the more stylish line of headsets from Samsung - called the WEP series:
To pair the headset in manually pairing mode:
1. With the headset off, press the center POWER button for 7 seconds until you see the headset blue light turn solid blue (no loneger flashing).
2. The indicator light will turn solid blue, which indicates that the headset is in “Pairing mode”.
3. In the phone, you now have to add the headset to the phone's list of Bluetooth devices.
4. You have to enter a Bluetooth passkey in the phone. The default passkey is 0000.

These directions apply to a lot of different bluetooth headsets. If "0000" (four zeros) does not work, try "0001" (three zeros and a one) or "1234".

Hope this helps!

thank you. I almost returned the bluetooth because it did not come with proper instructions. It would help if they mentioned to hold the button until the light is solid blue in pairing mode. Thanks for the instructions. they really helped.

I am able to pair the Wep-200 to my iPhone 3G with no problem, however, every time I turn the Wep-200 off (recharging) I have to go trough the whole process again, as the iPhone no longer sees the Wep-200
What am I doing wrong?

this seems to be an issue with the iPhone. I had this same issue with my wep-200 and with two Moto BT headsets. However ... Now I have a Plantronics bt headset and it doesn't have this problem. Apple needs to add "power saver mode" to the iPhone (which could be done via software)

One other thing...

Try turning the wep-200 back on after charging and hitting the call/answer button on the headset to sync it back up.

Thanks for the advice, I gave it a try but it didn't do anything.
I would appreciate any advice

As I said, this is an issue with the iPhone not your headset - the iPhone does not look for headsets that do not have autosync - which the WEP-200 does not.

My Plantronics headset does and one of the three MOTO headsets I have tried with my iPhone does.

This totally helped me out. I have this Bluetooth and used it with my old phone and then got a new one and couldn't figure out how to sync it for the life of me. I completely forgot and lost my manual and I'm a hands free person all the way so I was a lil worried. Not anymore. Thanks so much! :)

I can not get my bluetooth connected to my new Sprint Rumor2 The bluetooth was my son-in-laws and he said it worked. It is the web200 and I followed all your directions with no luck!!!! Can you help me?

fixyourthinking said...

See if it will pair with another Bluetooth phone using my directions.

If so ... It's your cellphone

if not it's your samsung headset.

Also try a sprint store ...

I had to hold down the button for 10 seconds to pair it to my env touch. Works great though! Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Like everyone else, I couldn't find my instructions and did not remember the password. Saved me a trip to the store for them to pair it.
