April Fool's Day: Apple Computer: The Greatest April Fool's Joke In History!

I dislike April Fool's Day ... don't get me wrong ... I love to joke around, but the whole Candid Camera / Punk'd type of joke angers me ... I'd rather someone make fun of my looks, my race, or my religion than I would being Punk'd.

On occasion, I don't mind fibbing for a few minutes and then just saying, "I'm just kidding" ... but Candid Camera jokes often involve multiple people in a lie.

What about the people who were on such shows or the subject of such elaborate jokes ... how well do they respond to their next real emergency? Has there ever been anyone who thought they were being Punk'd a second time ... when it was actually a real emergency? Like crying wolf?

Many websites will run stupid stories on Saturday ... some people will fall for them ... or even go into conspiracy theories how they may be a joke but be plausible.

The greatest April Fool's Day ever was April 1, 1976 - the day Apple Computer was officially launched as a company ... it has to go down as the greatest Punk ever to the computing world and quite possibly in the history of electronics.

Related: One of the funniest parodies I think I have ever seen was an Apple Switch Ad parody created by a Mac hater. This message appeared with the sosumi system sound at the end of the parody:

Or maybe the best Apple Fool's day hoax was the giant ipod that had Apple lovers salivating at the sheer enormity of Steve Jobs advertising genuis.

An iPod so big it's visible from space - OMG! that's insane, but, OMG! steve Jobs could do it... right?

Except it wasn't him, and it wasn't real.

It was actually just a genius with too much time ... somebody was playing around w/ Google maps and found something similar in shape to an iPod and made up a rumor ... notice how in the forums (from where the rumor started) that someone proves the "building" a water treatment plant has been there since 1999 (well before the iPod) ... then the "blogger" makes an insane reference to Microsoft's terraserver having improper dates. . . that was the stupidest hoax I've ever heard.
